Laser Hair Removal uses a medical grade class 4 laser to essentially heat your follicles – til they die. It’s serious stuff.
If pre and post treatment instructions aren’t followed it can lead to unwanted skin reaction such as burning, pigmentation, blisters. It’s just not worth the risk.

Before your patch test
–Please attend your patch test appointment with at least 5 days of hair growth in the area you would like treating. This growth period will allow me to assess the growth thoroughly.
-Ensure you have completed all consultation forms that have been sent to you.
-Please read this document fully and get in touch if there is any reason you believe you aren’t suitable for treatment.
Before your laser hair removal treatment
-The area to be treated must be clean and free from all topical solutions inc deodorant and moisturiser.
-Please shave the area 2-12 hours prior to each treatment. Shaving immediately prior to treatment may cause extra sensitivity to the skin. (However please leave 5 days growth for your patch test appointment only)
-No UV / sun exposure to the area being treated for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment. Sensitive or sunburned skin will not be treated, your appointment will be charged.
-Use SPF50+ on the treated areas if exposed in daylight hours, even in winter.
-No self tanning products in the area to be treated for at least 4 weeks before treatment.
-No bleaching, plucking, epilating or waxing hair in the area to be treated. Shave only.
-No essential oils in the area for 48 hours prior to treatment.
-Do not use depilatory creams in the area to be treated for at least 1 week prior to treatment.
-If you have been on antibiotics leave 2 weeks between finishing the course and having treatment to avoid light sensitivity issues.
After your appointment
-If you experience any heat, redness or swelling after your treatment, apply a soothing lotion such as aloe vera or cool compress at home if required.
-Do not shave for two weeks if possible – your hairs will shed better if they have a bit of length to them. If you shave as they shed they can become stuck in the follicle.
-Do not apply deodorants /perfumes to the treated area for 24-48 hours post treatment.
-Avoid very hots baths, saunas, hot tubs/jacuzzi, massage treatments or athletic activities for up to 48 hours after treatment
-Do not expose the treated area to UV for at least 14 days after treatment.
-Use SPF50+ on the treated areas when exposed to UV
-If you experience itching in the treated area, avoid scratching the skin. Apply a cool compress or some cooling Aloe Vera gel.
-Do not use any products that contains AHA, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid or Retinoic Acid (e.g. Retin A) on the treated area for 5 days following treatment.
-Maintain a good skincare routine with 2-3x weekly exfoliation and daily hydration.
-Do not wax, epilate, tweeze or bleach any hair in areas being treated with laser between appointments. Shave only.
-You may exfoliate gently (I recommend Ruff Stuff Daily Scrub for body, available in salon) from 3-5 days after laser treatment.
If you arrive at a patch test or for treatment and haven’t followed these instructions, your appointment will not go ahead. You will be charged 100% as per cancellation policy.
